The vision of Nick Roe

Barmouth seaside

Nick Roe is currently Librarian at Glyndwr University, Wrexham. But he is also a keenly observant photographer with a special eye for town life and architectural detail. He has contributed over a number of years to photo essays in About Wales. This is the first of an occasional series in which we will feature his photography.

This presentation showcases some of the different moods which Nick has captured. Captured in Barmouth, Colwyn Bay, Flint, Denbigh, Llandudno and Wrexham, here are glimpses of modern street life, ironwork and stonework that the casual visitor might miss, and townscapes whose atmosphere trigger sadness and familiarity.
